Join independent film distribution expert Thomas Mai and learn more about how to promote, fund and distribute your films in today's ever-changing marketplace. Thomas is a leading voice regarding "New World" film marketing and distribution business models. Thomas will talk about VOD/COD/DOD, Social Media, Crowdfunding and how it affects the film industry.
Thomas has sold over hundreds of feature films to distributors around the world ranging from the smallest independent films to bigger films with Hollywood stars. Thomas was Managing Partner and producer in Klondike Film from 1996-1998, CEO of Trust Film Sales from 1998-2000, the Managing Partner and producer of ZentAmerica. Thomas was CEO of Los Angeles based Katapult Film Sales from 2004-2006 and from 2006-2009 was Head of New Business at TrustNordisk, Copenhagen, Denmark.

This workshop will focus on international co-productions and the Screen Production Incentive Fund (SPIF); and includes structuring and financing film co-productions and case studies of successful New Zealand/ international co-productions. Panelists include New Zealand producers Richard Fletcher and Trevor Haysom, and Entertainment Lawyer Matt Emery. We’re also delighted to welcome Australian producer Sue Taylor of Taylor Media to the panel. Sue’s latest film, The Tree, a French/Australian co-production, starring Charlotte Gainsbourg, Marton Csokas and Aden Young was selected to present at the Closing Ceremony of the 63rd Cannes Festival.
