Simon Marler

Born in Takapuna in 1963, Simon has 26 years experience in the film, television, and theatre industries, working primarily in the production department and then as a casting director from 1992-2000.  He has produced and/or directed several short films and plays, and recently directed & co-produced the award-winning feature documentary Restoring the Mauri of Lake Omapere.

Simon was director for the Art at Work Theatre Company 1989-92, Production lecturer for Unitec’s Screen Arts Degree course 2003/2004, taught English as a foreign language in Switzerland 2001/2002, and was the managing director of Central Studios and Central Casting 1997–2000.
