Roger Horrocks

Roger HorrocksRoger Horrocks has been involved in the New Zealand film and television industries since the 1970s.

In addition to screen credits as a writer, he has served on many industry boards (including Deputy Chair of NZ On Air). He was one of the founders of the Auckland International Film Festival.

He has been promoting film and media education for 40 years, and has written many books and articles. He was founder and Head of the Department of Film, Television and Media Studies at Auckland University until he retired.

In 2004 he was made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) in the New Year Honours list for his “services to the film and television industries.” He is a co-director of Point of View Productions.
