“I like the editing process the most…It’s very much like writing, except without all the heartache and misery of writing, which is sitting down with a blank piece of paper.” – David Chase (The Sopranos) on A News-Hour with Jim Lehrer, ‘Hit Man’ 8th August, 2001
How do you grab the audience and not let them go?
Come and hear editors David Coulson (Whale Rider, North Country) and Cushla Dillon (Beautiful Machine, This Way of Life) talk to director/producer Leanne Pooley (Untouchable Girls, Haunting Douglas) about the art of great storytelling. Analysing clips from their work, we dissect an editor’s choices during this critical stage in the filmmaking process.
Drinks 7pm, 7.30 start, Tuesday 24th April, The Classic, 321 Queen Street, Auckland, $5 koha appreciated, stay afterward for a slice of pizza on us and a drink.
Presented in association with the Screen Director’s Guild of New Zealand.
