It can be hard for a writer to let go of the script and watch someone else bring it to life. Yet for an actor taking ownership of a character is often a crucial part of giving a truly great performance.
Director Mark Beesley (Outrageous Fortune, The Almighty Johnsons) talks to Matt Whelan (My Wedding and Other Secrets, The Most Fun You Can Have Dying), Lucy Lawless (Spartacus:Blood and Sand, Xena: Warrior Princess) and Antonia Prebble (The Tribe, Outrageous Fortune) about the process of interpreting a script and developing a character from the actor’s perspective.
Come along to our first Writer’s Room of 2012 and see a clip from Matt’s new film ‘The Most Fun You Can Have Dying’ being released in late April.
Drinks 7pm, 7.30 start, Tuesday 28th February, The Classic, 321 Queen Street, Auckland, $5 koha appreciated. Stay afterward for a slice of pizza on us and a drink.
