Workshop Breakdown

  • Stories for exhibition on mobile phones and/or the internet will be created during a facilitated workshop in Auckland.The workshop will begin with a facilitated session on the evening of Friday 11 June.
  • Projects will be produced and completed over the weekend of Saturday 12 & Sunday 13 June ending with a group screening and analysis on Sunday evening.
  • Participants will work in teams consisting of 1-3 people who will attend the workshop and cover the key creative areas (writer, director, producer, editor, camera, sound, etc).
  • Teams may use additional resources and people such as actors, specialised personnel, music, animation, photographs but must supply these resources themselves.

We provide: facilitation, mobile phones, mini DV cameras, editing suites (final cut), technical support.

Teams provide: additional resources (including DV tapes), what they need to attend for the weekend (such as travel, food, accommodation)

Pita Turei – filmmaker and Executive Director of Nga Aho Whakaari
Simon Marler – filmmaker and Executive Director of Script to Screen

Cost: $60 per selected team, no application fee

Application Requirements

  • Application Cover Sheet    Click here to download coversheet
  • A brief outline of your project
  • 1-3 images which you feel capture the essence of your story.
  • a statement on how you propose to produce and complete your project over the two day period
  • A bio for each team member.  There can be 1-3 people in your team who will attend the workshop and cover the key creative areas (writer, director, producer, editor, camera, sound, etc). *AUT Co-Lab, Script to Screen, and Nga Aho Whakaari retain the right to exhibit completed projects.

Selection

  • Up to nine projects will be selected on the basis that they suit the medium, are innovative, are achievable and tell a story.
  • The short-listing and final selection of participants will be carried out by the facilitators (Laurent Antonzcak, Pita Turei, Simon Marler, Bevin Linkhorn) and Frances Joseph – CoLab Director
