Script to Screen’s August Writer’s Room: Developing and producing an independent feature
The creative team behind New Zealand’s latest indie film, Second-Hand Wedding, joined The August Writer’s Room to talk about how they made it happen. Director Paul Murphy, writer Nick Ward (Stickmen, The Ferryman), and producer Kerry Robbins (Utu) spoke to Tim O’Brien (NZFC development executive) about the local low-budget feature that has outstripped expectations at the box office.
In October Script to Screen travelled to Wellington for a special Writer’s Room in association with the New Zealand Film Archive. Following a special screening of the film Second-Hand Wedding co-writers Linda Niccol (The Handkerchief) and Nick Ward spoke to MC Tom Scott about the crafting of this local box-office hit.
