In 2008 Script to Screen kick-started the South Island Film and Television Days, two days of film and television events and workshops in Dunedin and Christchurch.
In 2008 the South Island Film and Television Days was run in association with The New Zealand Film Commission, Screen Dunedin, Screen Canterbury, New Zealand Broadcasting School, Dunedin City Council, New Zealand Writer’s Guild, Screen Directors Guild of New Zealand, Screen Production and Development Association, Nga Aho Whakaari, Te Paepae Ataata and Natural History New Zealand.

10am -1.45pm: TeTimata – Feature Writing Technique for Beginners (NZFC/NAW)
A four-hour workshop with Hone Kouka, writer & NZFC Development Executive
2 – 4pm: Directing Actors for the Screen Screen Directors Guild NZ/Script to Screen
A 2 hour workshop with writer / director Vanessa Alexander
Vanessa will work with two actors on their performances and the blocking of a scene and explore how these elements affect the choice of shots available. This is superb opportunity for directors, actors and writers to learn from and speak with a highly accomplished director and writer.
